Zurich, Friday August 28, 2009.
Though this time Usain Bolt came from behind to beat his countryman Asafa Powell, he still took the win, finishing in 9.81 seconds in the "Weltklasse Zurich" Golden League . He was followed by Asafa Powell (9.88) and Darvis Patton coming in third (9.95).
The 100m world champion record holder (9.58) and Olympics record holder (9.69) said that the race was shaky. "My body was sitting at the start, I was a little bit tired through the race". "All things considered, the time is not bad. I needed to pick up my speed as my body did not respond well to the race", said Bolt.

The early lead set by Asafa Powell gave him confidence that he can beat the fastest man on earth, "Usain Bolt". "Now I know I can beat Usain, I just need to work out the last part of the race", said Powell.
Meanwhile Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele won the Zurich 5000m race (12:52.32), beating hands down Kenyan and Ugandan runners in this race. |
