Why Support MyAfricanMusic.com?
The project was started by graduate students with a passion for African Music. We sacrifice our time and limited resources to bring you an exemporary service. However, as the project grows, the demand and the costs have become higher. We therefore seek your help, if you share our passion or wish to donate to MyAfricanMusic.com to enable us continue providing this vital service.
Our plan is simple: We aim at creating the best station we possibly can, refrain from contaminating it with on-air advertising hence more music, and then ask you to contribute to Myafricanmusic.com what you think is worth. So far it seems to be working out
nicely. We're not likely to get rich this way, but that's not our
goal. Rather our Goal is to keep you e-ntertained and to promote the artists by bringing you the best African and Afro-Caribbean music mix avialable on the internet.
Your voluntary support enables us to devote all of our time and
energy to making MyAfricanMusic.com the best station available,
pay for the bandwidth, equipment and services required to keep
the station online, stock more music, and paying for the rather substantial copyright royalties
we are required to pay for the music we play.
The amount of your contribution is up to you - based on your opinion
of how much you enjoy MyAfricanMusic.com & what you can afford. Some may find MyAfricanMusic.com the best thing that ever happened on the web and may wish to contribute substantially to keep MyAfricanMusic.com online. A number of listeners have adopted the "one hour's wages per
month" formula - some can afford to send even more than that
(thanks!), others can afford only $5 per month.
We particularly appreciate automatic monthly, quarterly or annual support
payments. The more regular ongoing support we receive in that fashion
the less we have to bug you on the air for support.
