Artist’s Debut CD Delivers Strong, African-Inspired Cuts With Lead Single “My Love”
TolumiDE (pronounced toe-LU-mee-day) is on the cusp of becoming a household name in gospel music. In a world of cookie-cutter artists, TolumiDE breaks barriers and liberates souls with the refreshing sound she brings to inspirational music. With her Nigerian and Canadian background, the recipient of the 2009 African Heritage Award for Outstanding African Artist and multiple Canadian Reggae Music Award Nominee during her time with W.A.R.T. is set to take the gospel music community by storm with her eclectic and riveting performances on her debut, full-length CD, My Love releasing May 2010. The project is a sonic collage of urban, contemporary gospel, world, funk, soul, and R&B music and of course, African rhythms. But for TolumiDE, music and its differing styles are simply a means to an end; for her, it’s all about delivering the uplifting and eternal message through song.
My Love, TolumiDE’s new release, simply put, is a stunner. Exposing all the musical sides of the artist, My Love is power-packed with one great track after another. “My Love”, the album’s title song and lead single, is one of the album’s tightest tracks. With a thick back beat and a striking urban groove, the song and its amazingly-produced concept video, radiates. TolumiDE sings of her love of God with reminders of what He does for her every day. The project is available on iTunes and CDBaby.
